The Analytics and Innovation (Ai) team at United Airlines works to innovate, transform, and solve complex business problems resulting in significant and measurable enterprise impact through the application of deep cross-functional business expertise and advanced analytics. We work with business and technology partners across the enterprise (e.g., Airport Operations, Contact Centers, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Digital Products, Human Resources, etc.) to influence strategic decisions, enterprise strategy, business process, and to help connect the dots across the enterprise. We aim to be an organization with whom and within everyone loves to work!
Generative AI Interns within the Analytics & Innovation (Ai) organization play a supportive yet highly impactful role by working closely alongside our established team of Data Scientists and AI Engineers. Rather than partnering directly with business stakeholders, you will be embedded within our core technical teams to help accelerate the research, development, and testing of LLM-powered solutions. We are looking for self-driven, intellectually curious individuals who are deeply passionate about the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem. In this role, you will navigate technical ambiguity with a strong analytical mindset, quickly adapting to fast-evolving frameworks while maintaining a clear, rigorous thought process in problem-solving. Your core objective will be to assist our senior practitioners in rapidly prototyping innovative AI applications, systematically evaluating model performance, and laying the groundwork for secure, next-generation enterprise AI solutions.
Technical Collaboration & Prototyping: Collaborate intimately with senior Data Scientists and AI Engineers to assist in the rapid prototyping and technical execution of Generative AI applications, such as foundational Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, intelligent document processing, and internal AI-powered tools.
Secure Development & Documentation: Deliver high-quality, clean, and secure code for experimental AI workloads, ensuring that all codebases are accompanied by thorough documentation to foster seamless technical hand-offs, strict code-reusability principles, and safe enterprise-grade integration.
Data Analysis & Model Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive exploratory data analysis, data preprocessing, and feature engineering to support AI model grounding. Assist the technical team in rigorously evaluating model outputs, focusing heavily on accuracy, context retention, and proactive hallucination reduction strategies.
Technical Communication: Effectively structure and document complex technical insights, experimental results, and methodology from your workstreams, delivering clear and professional technical presentations to your immediate peers, team leaders, and technical managers.
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.
