The Custom Index Engineering team is responsible for building bespoke index solutions for third-party clients across global markets. The team collaborates across New York, New Jersey, and Mumbai to support innovative index methodologies and operational workflows.
As part of the internship program, you will support the team on exploratory initiatives, workflow enhancements, and analytical projects related to index development and automation. You will work in a collaborative global environment and gain exposure to financial markets, data analysis, and internal technology initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Assist with internal automation and dashboard enhancement initiatives (e.g., Python-based tools and frameworks such as Streamlit or Dask).
Support exploratory projects involving workflow improvements, analytical research, or new technology initiatives.
Review and validate structured data outputs under supervision.
Support documentation of workflows, methodologies, and operational processes.
Collaborate with team members on testing, quality checks, and small-scale development tasks.
Identify opportunities for improving efficiency in recurring workflows and processes.
Develop foundational knowledge of index concepts, financial datasets, and internal team workflows.
Additional Notes:
This internship focuses on analytical support, exploratory initiatives, and workflow enhancement projects.
Interns will not be expected to independently manage production index workflows or proprietary internal systems.

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related quantitative fields.
Must be able to work out of the Mumbai, India office during the internship period.
Ability to apply programming and analytical concepts to practical problem-solving scenarios.
Strong interest in financial markets and data-driven problem-solving.
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with basic data analysis concepts.
Familiarity with Git/version control and collaborative development workflows.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Ability to demonstrate strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ownership of assigned work.
Ability to clearly communicate analytical findings, assumptions, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to tools and frameworks such as pandas, NumPy, Streamlit, or Databricks.
Exposure to handling structured datasets and data processing workflows is a plus.
Understanding of basic financial markets or index concepts is a plus.
Ability to work independently on structured tasks with guidance from the team.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in a global team environment.
