The AI QA Developer Intern supports the design, development, and execution of quality assurance activities for AI-powered applications and software solutions. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, this role assists in validating application functionality, AI model behavior, and software quality through manual and automated testing. The intern contributes to test automation using Java, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and gains hands-on experience with modern QA practices, AI technologies, and continuous integration pipelines.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for AI-enabled applications using Java-based automation frameworks.
Assist in creating and maintaining automated regression and functional test suites using Java and industry-standard testing tools.
Validate software functionality, APIs, user interfaces, and AI-generated outputs against business and technical requirements.
Identify, document, prioritize, and verify software defects using defect tracking systems.
Collaborate with software developers, QA engineers, product managers, and AI engineers to reproduce issues and validate defect fixes.
Support the creation of test plans, test scripts, test data, and quality documentation.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, sprint testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) activities.
Continuously learn emerging AI testing methodologies, automation technologies, and quality engineering best practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of Java programming and object-oriented programming principles.
Understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and Agile development practices.
Familiarity with Java-based automation frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, or JUnit.
Basic knowledge of REST API testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, SQL, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions is beneficial.
Understanding of AI/ML concepts and techniques for validating AI-generated outputs is a plus.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
Coursework or project experience in Java programming.
Experience with Java-based application development, automation testing, or software development through academic projects, internships, or personal projects is preferred.
Exposure to Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured, Maven, Git, or similar Java development and testing tools is desirable.
Interest in AI technologies, software quality engineering, and test automation.
Ability to learn quickly and contribute effectively in a collaborative Agile development environment.
