As a Student Intern in IAM/Cybersecurity, you will work alongside experienced professionals to support the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise identity and access management solutions. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to modern IAM technologies, cybersecurity practices, and real-world business challenges.
What we look for
Assist in configuring and managing IAM platforms (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, Saviynt, SailPoint) for user provisioning, access reviews, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
Support the implementation of security controls such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), privileged access management, and policy enforcement.
Participate in monitoring system logs, analyzing security events, and responding to incidents under supervision.
Help document IAM processes, prepare reports on access requests, and maintain compliance records.
Collaborate with IT and security teams to troubleshoot access issues and support onboarding/offboarding processes.
Contribute to automation scripts and workflows for identity lifecycle management (joiner/mover/leaver).
Stay current on cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices; participate in team knowledge-sharing sessions.
Learning Outcomes
Gain practical experience with enterprise IAM tools and protocols (OAuth2, SAML, SCIM, RBAC).
Develop foundational skills in cybersecurity operations, risk assessment, and incident response.
Build proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
Understand regulatory frameworks (GDPR, PCI, NIST) and their impact on identity management.
Eligibility Criteria
Currently pursuing a master’s degree (M.Tech/M.Sc) in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field.
Strong academic record (typically above 50% with no active backlogs).
Familiarity with programming languages (Python, Java, C#) and basic networking concepts.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
Prior coursework or project experience in IAM, cybersecurity, or cloud technologies.
Exposure to scripting, automation, or data analysis tools.
Certifications (if any): Microsoft, Okta, or other relevant security credentials (optional).
