Cisco's Common Hardware Group is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer for its diagnostics and board support package (BSP) team in Bengaluru. The team builds the low-level software that keeps Cisco's core and edge routers and switches reliable and fast. You will design and develop BSP and diagnostics software, write and test kernel and user-space device drivers for FPGAs and networking peripherals, and create and run software test plans, working closely with hardware and cross-functional teams. Cisco asks for a bachelor's degree in electronics or computer science with 2+ years of experience, or a master's with 1+ year, strong C, C++ and Python, and hands-on experience with Linux hardware bring-up, device drivers, multi-threading and state machines, plus protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe and GPIO.
