Morningstar is hiring a Software Engineer in Mumbai to build backend services on a Python-first stack (FastAPI, Pandas/NumPy, pytest) with Java Spring Boot services, running on AWS with PostgreSQL, Kafka and Docker. You will develop REST APIs and microservices in Python, contribute to Spring Boot applications, write unit and integration tests, join code reviews and Agile ceremonies, and debug issues across the stack with BAs, QA and your team lead. Requirements: a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science/IT, 3–5 years of backend development, strong Python 3 with FastAPI or Flask, Pandas and NumPy, multithreading/multiprocessing basics, good exception handling and solid data structures and algorithms.
