Microsoft's silicon team in Bengaluru needs a CAD engineer to develop and support physical design flows. You will work with Synopsys and Cadence EDA tools for synthesis, place-and-route and timing, qualify new tool releases, patches and methodology changes before production use, and maintain regression frameworks that track flow stability, runtime, resource use and quality of results. You will analyse timing, power and area changes, debug problems across tools, scripts and compute environments, automate repetitive CAD work with Python, Tcl or Zsh, manage flow releases with Git and code reviews, and keep release documentation up to date. Requirements: at least 3 years of hands-on experience in silicon physical design or physical design CAD tools and flows, plus Tcl and Python scripting (4+ years is preferred).
