Exotel, a customer communication platform, is hiring a Software Engineer 2 for its billing team in Bengaluru. You will deliver features, support production and build integrations with the ERP (Business Central), payment gateways and a planned Zuora migration. Work includes developing microservices and batch jobs in Golang, Java or PHP and building REST APIs and Kafka producers and consumers for billing events, sync flows and fallback pipelines. Must-have skills: strong data structures and algorithms, Golang (preferred), Java or PHP, scalable distributed and event-driven systems, hands-on MySQL (schema design, query tuning), Kafka and async processing with retry patterns, Kubernetes basics with ArgoCD or similar GitOps, and an ownership mindset around logs, metrics and incidents. Billing, invoicing or payments experience is a plus. The role lists 2-5 years of experience.
