Morningstar is hiring a Data Scientist in Mumbai for its AI & ML (Data Collection) team, which builds AI solutions to pull structured information out of PitchBook reports, news and other content. You will use data analysis, machine learning, NLP and generative AI, including LLMs, RAG and agentic workflows, to improve the quality, coverage and timeliness of PitchBook data. You will own projects end to end, from problem definition, data exploration and success metrics to model development, evaluation, deployment, monitoring and improvement, working with product managers, ML and software engineers and domain experts. Requirements: a bachelor's or master's degree in data science, computer science, statistics or a related field; the posting lists about 2 years of experience. Hybrid work, typically four days a week in the office, with limited travel.
