ABB's machine automation team in Chennai is hiring an Automation Engineer to support engineering work on projects of all sizes under senior engineers. You will plan and carry out application development tasks (new products and changes), support testing, installation, commissioning, debugging and diagnostics, turn concepts into detailed engineering documents through modelling, prototyping, simulation and calculations, help with proposals and presentations, keep customers updated, and flag project risks, all in line with contract, quality, safety and cybersecurity standards.
Requirements: a Bachelor's in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation or a related engineering field, 1-3 years of application development and support experience, a good understanding of PLCs, motors, drives, motion control and robotics, and willingness to travel for site support and commissioning.
