Akamai's Cloud Technology Engineering team, which builds the tools Akamai engineers use to run one of the world's largest distributed systems, is hiring a remote Software Engineer II in India. You will design, build and deploy scalable, reliable and secure features from design through testing and release, work with architects on requirements, write unit tests, fix bugs and resolve complex technical problems in existing applications, and measure and improve distributed system performance. The team works in Agile sprints alongside product management, QA and support. Requirements: a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and 2+ years of experience building applications with Java, Spring, JavaScript and databases, front-end work with Angular, Bootstrap or React, exposure to LLM-powered apps, AI agents or MCP servers, some Python, Perl or PHP, and comfort with build tools and Linux shell.
