Amazon's Alexa Connections team in Chennai is hiring a Software Development Engineer to build the services behind Alexa's calling, messaging and contact features. You will design and run backend services that model each customer's personal connections in a privacy-first way, and build scalable systems that combine large language models and agent-style reasoning to help customers reach the right person over calls, texts and email. You will work closely with scientists and other engineers on design, reliability and scale. Candidates need 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship), around 2 years of experience designing or architecting systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling), and solid programming skills in at least one language.
