Marriott is hiring a Commis I for the Garde Manger (cold kitchen) section at a Marriott hotel in Madurai. You will prepare and cook food to recipes and presentation standards with a focus on cold preparations, make sure portions, arrangement and garnish are right, maintain food logs, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared. You will keep chefs and service staff informed about specials and out-of-stock items, follow food safety and workplace safety rules, and help train and guide junior kitchen staff.
Requirements: a technical, trade or vocational qualification (culinary) and at least 3 years of related kitchen experience. The job involves standing for long periods and lifting up to about 25 pounds.
